Bagel is one of my favorite bread. It was boomed in Japan during late 1990's and early 2000 as a healthy food, and people care about body shape jumped at the chance for to a slim down at that time. I was also captivated by the chewy and soft bagel, and I even baked them by myself, too.
My friend took me to a cafe when I went back to my home town in August, but the owner was taking the summer vacation and the cafe was closed. She told me the bagel she had there could be the one I like. I missed it in August, but the day we re-visit was the day the owner reopened the cafe, and I could have it this time:)
The cafe opens only on weekend, and the owner handles everything by herself. The maximum capacity of seating would be 10 or so. The 5 or 6 kinds were available, and I ordered the pesto-genovese. It comes with today's soup.
I had "Pest-Genovese Bagel."
It was truly chewy and I become a fan of their bagels at one. The bagels were limited, but we can buy it if there are extra that she can sell. I got two, "Homemade Bacon Bagel" and "Miso Bagel" :)
"Homemade Bacon Bagel" was my friend choice for the day.
