My Father's Works

First Cherry from my father's garden! Last year, most of them are eaten by birds, so he got bird netting for the trees this year. It hasn't turned to red enough when I visited him to my parents house last month...
Last week, my father called and told me it's ready to eat. Luckily, I already got a ticket for going home! Most of them were  harvested by him, but I still could see some of them are hanging from a brances!

The smell was pretty nice. I am lucky I can eat freshly picked cherries.

Great season to see flowers
I love spring. The tree gets green with many leaves, and many coloful flowers bloom. It's fun to go to the flower shop in spring.
I am back in my home town now, and I see many flowers my father grow in the yard and garden. I am thinking to bring some from his yard when I go back to Tokyo this weekend.
PEONY(牡丹)

My father set the unberella above the flowers. According to him, the flowers fall off easily when it rains. He is saving the flowers. His idea is cute, isn't it? :)

Apple MANGO!
I don't remember when he got this Mango tree. Since then, every summer I can eat Mango he grews at home. I was not the big fan of Mango until I ate his mango. First time I ate his mango, Mango became my favorite fruit. Last month I went back to my parents house, I could see the tree with many flowers. He can harvest Mango in Septemeber. Can't wait it!

This is the last year's Mango. The mango was nearly as large as my hand.

Green House

This is the biggest green house he has. He spends many hours for taking care of beautiful orchids if he has a time. He used to stop by the green house first when he get back home from his work.

Pineapple
I was back in my parents house last weekend. A week before I got back there, my father called me and told me about the first pineapple he grew. It was ready to harvest, so he asked me if I want to eat them with him or not. Of course, I want to eat his first pineapple. Sunday afternoon after the lunch, he asked me to cut...

The smell was so sweet even I had not inserted the knife yet... He was watching me so close when I was cutting it. I know he was so curious about the inside. It looked OK when it was cut. Taste? Mmm.....It was not sweet enough...it was sour and I could not eat them much( I can't eat sour foods much) I guess I expected it too much, so I was a bit disappointed. My father ate some and left the kitchen... I cut them all in sort of small pieces. He and I did not eat much, so there were many pieces on the cutting board.  I sprinkled sugar on them and left for 1 hour in a bowl, and left the kitchen. Couple hours later, when I looked inside the bowl, half of them were gone... he ate them, because pineapple soaked sugar and  it was sweet enough.

MICHIKO

My father is genious for growing vegitables, flowers, and fruits. Especially, he loves orchids the most. He has three green houses for orchids and he takes care of many types of orchids there.

My father got the siliver prise(second prise) with this orchid when he entered the exhibition( I don't remember when and where). He named it after my mother's name "Michiko." It's just lovely!
