Collage at Conrad Hotel

My father visited me to Tokyo last month, and we had the dinner the day before he left. I invited him to the dinner to Collage at CONRAD Hotel.

From the restaurant (Hotel) website:
The restaurant is introduced as below.
"Collage - inspired by Michelin-starred chef Shinya Maeda's innovative interpretation of modern fine French dining - combines the very best of European culinary style and ingredients with exceptional presentation. The 28th floor location with 7-meter floor-to-ceiling windows offers striking views of Tokyo's dramatic skyscrapers. Open for lunch and dinner."

The guests can see the chefs performance from the table.

The dinner was started the toast with wine(father) and pinapple juice(mine). First drink was free from the restaurant, and it was included in our course.

• • • Canapés • • •
Squid ink canape and Salmon Croquette

• • • Amuse Bouche • • •
Horse meat tartare

Three kinds of breads were served with butter.

• • • Foie gras cube orange and carrot • • •

Mashed potato and one more thing(don't remember) were on the plate, too.

The orange like was pretty cute!

It comes with coffee or tea.

The restaurant was quiet, and the staffs were very kind and helpful. It seems my father liked the ice wine from France and ordered it few times. I was a bit nervous with the price how much it cost (I couldn't see the menu from my seat)...:P He didn't know the dinner was my treat until it finished, so he ordered it few times. I was relived it wasn't much expensive when I saw the price on the check J
The night was very special to me and it was lovely dinner with my father at Collage!

Happy New Year, 2015!

I know it's too late to say... Happy new year. I posted the pic and stored temporally in my blog... and totally forgot about it since last December. I baked them for my 2015 new year's greeting card. We, Japanese, send it to friends, and it's just like a Christmas card. After I took a picture, I ate them, of course :P

The Santo Domingo (Dominican Restaurant and Bar)

There is a restaurant near my apt, and I have been curious what kinds of foods I can eat there. A month ago, I had the lunch there with my friend and it was really my type of taste. Then I became more curious about other foods.

For the first time in months, I had the dinner with my co-worker’s. The restaurant “The Santo Domingo” was my choice for that night.
It is the only Dominican restaurant in Tokyo.

I pre-ordred the Dinner for everybody, and the foods were served as a course style.

Appetizer
(Marinated Octopus, Enpanada, Avocado Canape, Sauteed Mushrooms)
Ajillo(Mushroon)
Rillettes
Cobb Salad
Terrine

Tostones(Fried Green Banana)

Stewed Beef

Dominican rice
All the foods were pretty good, and we all enjoyed the dinner. The restaurant is still in the same place, but they stopped serving Dominican foods now. I haven’t checked the renewed menu yet, but it’s too bad they changed the menu from Dominican cuisine to something else.

Renew the Ironing Board

My friend left me the ironing board when she returned to Canada many years ago, and it seems well used ironing board need to go now...

The other day, after I used it, the word "Repair" just popped up into my head. I never done it before, but I thought it would be really nice if I could make it. I went to the nearest craft store and found the nice pattern cloth on sale. I also got a craft bond.

Soon I came back from the store, I started to repair it. Then, I realized I need a big paper which can cover the back side of the ironing board. There was no paper which is enough to cover the back side, but I didn't wanna go back to the store again. I tried to find a paper and decided to use the shopping back from Mituskoshi department store. One more thing, I prepared was the hemming tape. The tape made it easy to handle when I need to cover the front side by fabric

It was easy to do and it didn't take much time to finish.( Maybe 30 min or so) I'm happy that I didn't need to waste it and can continue to use it ! :)
